The Law Society of New South Wales states the aim of the specialist accreditation scheme is to benefit the public and the profession by offering a reliable means of identifying solicitors recognised by their peers as having special competence in an area of practice, and encouraging improvement in the quality, speed and cost of legal services.
The New South Law Society Specialist Accreditation in Personal Injury law has been in place since 1993.

Solicitor Director Julie Wyatt commenced her legal career in 1981 and has been with Wyatt Attorneys since its inception. Over this period she has acquired a vast amount of experience in personal injury law. In particular, Julie has had extensive dealings with injured people and is sympathetic and understanding to them and to their particular situations.
Julie worked as the National Compensation Officer for the Commonwealth Bank Officers’ Association for a number of years, representing the Union’s membership across Australia. She also represented the Union on various ACTU committees working on ensuring the maximum benefits were retained for injured persons across Australia. She was also heavily involved in the implementation of return to work programs for the Union’s members.
Julie has recently completed a series of nearly 30 mediation’s against the Commonwealth of Australia. These matters were complicated chemical exposure compensation cases. They are commonly referred to as the deseal/reseal cases involving significant injuries arising out of Royal Australian Air Force servicemen and servicewomen exposure to a cocktail of toxic chemicals while working on the F111 aircraft during the course of their service.
Julie achieved an unheard of 100% success rate and has consequently been pivotal in making
a significant change to these plaintiffs’ lives. All mediated matters were successful in obtaining compensation for injuries suffered in the work place.
